Primary 1 Readiness Programme
Preparing Children for the Transition to Primary School
The P1 Readiness Programme supports children on the autism spectrum in preparing for mainstream primary school. Children build essential curriculum, communication, and self-management skills in an authentic school-like environment.
Who Is It For?
- Children on the autism spectrum
- Children entering Primary 1 the following year
- Children preparing for a mainstream curriculum setting
What Will Your Child Learn
Children will build and practise important school-readiness skills in real-life school settings, including:
- Following classroom and social rules
- Planning, organisation, and time management
- Functional communication, such as asking for help or permission
- Coping with mistakes and receiving feedback
- Managing everyday school routines, including recess activities and buying food independently
- Building familiarity and confidence with school routines and expectations before starting school
Programme Structure
- 10 weekly structured sessions
- Followed by a 3-day Primary School Simulation

School Holiday Programme
The Detective Programme
The WeCAN Detectives Club is a fun and interactive 2-day social skills programme where children work together to solve a mystery through guided activities and teamwork.
Through an engaging storyline, small-group activities, and guided support, children build confidence, communication, and cooperation skills in a safe and supportive environment while having fun.
Who Is It For?
- Children on the autism spectrum
- Ages 5 to 7 years old
What Will Your Child Learn
Through structured play and group activities, children will practice:
- Following group instructions
- Waiting and taking turns
- Asking for help appropriately
- Communication and cooperation skills
Programme Structure
- 2-day camp experience
- Mystery-themed interactive activities
- Hands-on challenges in a structured and supportive environment
